Tonight at Skybounds twitch.tv channel (www.twitch.tv/skybound) we shared some news on what we are working on at Starbreeze and OVERKILL. Continue reading below to find out what we said.
At Starbreeze and OVERKILL we’ve always prided ourselves to be at the forefront of interactive experiences. We got introduced to the InfinitEye team a few years ago. They had this great thing going with a VR headset with several unique features. In this team from Paris we found our soulmates in hardware development. Today we’re happy to announce that we are acquiring the team at InfinitEye as well as their technology. This is exactly why we’re excited to announce Project StarVR, our Virtual Reality initiative. The hardware expertise of InfinitEye together with our rich history of making games allows us to take a broad approach to VR. Together, we are able to produce both software and hardware for VR and are therefor in control of the whole process.
What does this mean? Yes, it means that OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead will be coming to Virtual Reality. For those attending E3, we will have a prequel experience available for you to play in virtual reality.

The time is also right for PAYDAY to go mobile. We found these awesome guys called Cmune. They care for the games they make and have the highest development standards. We’re proud to announce our partnership with Cmune, who will develop a PAYDAY experience tailored to mobile. We see Cmune as a long-term partner and are doing a strategic million dollar investment in their company. We are excited to explore competitive gameplay for the first time in the world of PAYDAY together with them and our partner 505 Games.

On Tuesday we’ll go live with the next generation version of PAYDAY 2, called PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition. At E3, you’ll be able to try it out!
As a part of our publishing effort, we’re working together with our Croatian partner studio Lion Game Lion. RAID: World War II is, as the title suggests, a four player co-op game that plays out during the second world war. It feels great to have everyone in the Lion Game Lion crew with us at E3 this year to kick off their project and show the PAYDAY 2: Golden Grin Casino DLC. The Golden Grin Casino Heist is coming out on the 25th this month and for the first time ever, the PAYDAY gang are going to rob a casino in Las Vegas. As a world-first exclusive, you’ll be able to try it out in our PAYDAY booth at E3.
